Just because you can take care of every aspect of your business, doesn’t mean you should. When you wear all the hats, you’re left with no time to grow your business, and your family starts to wonder what you look like because the last time you spent an entire weekend with them was sometime in mid-2005.
When you take care of ALL the things, you’re the copywriter, editor, photographer, graphic designer, blogger, social media manager, email marketer, bookkeeper/accountant, webmaster, creative thinker, troubleshooter, salesperson, public speaker, networker, business coach, cheerleader, researcher, content manager, planner, boss, employee, and at least half a dozen other things I’ve forgotten at this moment because I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Most of those are pretty much full-time jobs all on their own.
So when you’re juggling all those jobs, when do you have time to actually grow your business? Newsflash: You don’t – at least not with a high level of efficiency or even passion. So you stay where you are, struggling to manage it all and getting stressed out and run down.
When you’re busy busy busy all the time, you may think you’re working on your business, and growing it – you must be, right? You work *all* the time! But guess what? You’re not working on your business, you’re working IN your business, and they’re not the same thing.
When you work in your business you’re handling all sorts of tasks and projects that could (and often should) be taken care of by someone else. Perhaps even someone who can do it better and faster than you can. But what happens when you outsource and delegate? A Broadway Musical featuring sunshine, puppy dogs, and unicorns? Maybe not. Magic? Perhaps, just a little. You receive the gift of TIME. Time to brainstorm, time to implement, time to network. And guess what else – your spouse/children/parents/grandchildren won’t wonder who the hell this stranger is wandering around the house at odd hours, because you’ll actually have time to relax and enjoy spending time with them! Imagine that…
If you’re ready to say “No more!” to feeling overwhelmed and stretched too thin, contact me and let’s chat about which hats you can give to someone else to wear for a change.
